E-cigarette use among high school teens has increased by 78% in the past year. E-cigarettes contain nicotine, and some e-cigarettes contain as much nicotine as a pack of 20 regular cigarettes. This is a public health crisis. The purpose of the Forum is to move the needle and make a healthy difference in the lives of Wake County residents.
This forum will feature an expert-led review of current trends and a series of panel discussions on the impacts of tobacco and the policies that facilitate tobacco-free environments. Panelists will include youth, community, municipal, education, housing, and business leaders. Entities that have been leading the way in making our communities tobacco-free will also be recognized.
